Cedar Park is a neighborhood within the University City region of West Philadelphia. Like neighboring Spruce Hill, Cedar Park was initially founded as a "streetcar suburb" of Philadelphia, meaning its growth and development were shaped by the use of streetcar lines as a primary mode of transportation. Today, it is regarded as one of the most culturally diverse and progressive communities in the city.
 
Cedar Park's boundaries are defined as Larchwood Avenue to the north, Kingsessing Avenue to the south, 46th Street to the east, and 52nd Street to the west. It is named after a modest park found on 50th and Baltimore that serves as a popular gathering place for community events. It is primarily residential, although several trendy restaurants and cultural venues have found a home here.
 
The architecture of Cedar Park sets it apart from many of the adjacent communities, with several large, Queen Anne-style homes still standing and in use. Since the turn of the 21st century, there has been a campaign to refurbish and revitalize Cedar Park. The community hosts many free cultural, artistic, and culinary events throughout the year that give it a distinctly bohemian vibe.
