Hello, Philadelphia! If you are looking to switch your style up and try out a new look, we highly recommend checking out the haircare pros at Architeqt Salon, located in Philadelphia’s Washington Square West neighborhood. This multifaceted business functions as a salon by day and a gallery/event space by night. We recently caught up with co-owner, Alexey Kats and chatted about the salon’s personal style, their specialty services and all of the amazing work that they do to keep their business thriving.
Architeqt Salon takes style to new levels and their team of highly-qualified, educated professionals extends their aesthetic expertise into all areas of their work. The décor of the salon is chic and gorgeous with a Frank LLoyd Wright inspired design that incorporates straight, clean lines. Kats explained that he was looking to create a look that is “modern and organic at the same time” by using a lot of wood, copper and natural materials to create their signature look. Everything in their 10th and Spruce location is movable, allowing space to be cleared for their full schedule of galleries, parties, workshops and charity events. The result of this carefully designed environment is an atmosphere that is both functional and comfortable while showcasing the one-of-a-kind Architeqt style.
It would be a complete understatement to say that these stylists take hair seriously. Their team is made up of brand educators that are always on top of the newest developments in the hair world. They work collaboratively to be sure that all members of the team are using cutting-edge techniques in order to wow their clients. They focus on basic salon services, dry cutting, coloring, treatments and extensions. The Architeqt stylists have gained a lot of attention due to their modern techniques and attention to detail, even winning a Best of Philly Award for their creative coloring. The entire staff is dedicated to pleasing their clients and, as Kats states, “making Philadelphia a good looking and hip city.”
The Architeqt owners and employees definitely work hard and put a lot of hours in but they truly feel that their work pays off. They love supporting each other’s success and feel inspired by their shared accomplishments and growth. Kats feels that the best part of his job is “working with people all day, seeing the smiles on their faces and knowing that I can do that with my own hands.” After long days of phone calls, emails and appointments, the satisfaction he gets from taking care of his clients makes it all worthwhile and his amazing staff feels the same.
Kats did not sugarcoat the fact that opening Architeqt was a challenge with many struggles along the way. He is proud that he has been able to hire many new staff members and watch them grow alongside the salon. The Architeqt team is dedicated to the Philadelphia and Washington Square West communities. They have thoroughly enjoyed watching and participating in the expansion of the area’s small businesses. The team gives back by hosting charity events and helping local artists and vendors display their products. They love promoting new companies and helping them get off the ground in any way that they can. Architeqt has recently opened a new Callowhill location and they are planning on establishing more salons in the future. Their main focus is to keep networking in order to bring the professional stylist community together so that they can continue to improve their practices as a whole. We love their noble mission and enlightened business practice and hope that you check out Architeqt Salon for you next fashion upgrade.
