In its 184th year, The Philadelphia Flower show is still the largest (and longest running) flower show in the nation. That being said, it’s finally making its much awaited return this weekend! Themed “Brilliant!” this year, the show centers its message on the beauty and creative inspiration of Great Britain. It officially hits the Pennsylvania Convention Center (in center city) March 2nd and runs through March 10th (hours vary).
Stunning and provoking, Britain’s heritage and culture are expected to be reflected vibrantly in every petal, with English roses at the Royal palace gates, a floral presentation of the Crown Jewels and several stunning creations devoted to London’s style!
Proceeds from the Philadelphia Flower Show will then go to help fund Philadelphia Green, one of the outreach programs of The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s. Known as the nation’s largest and most comprehensive neighborhood greening program, Philadelphia Green works with more than 800 organized community groups on thousands of projects that include planting street trees, maintaining neighborhood parks and creating vegetable and flower gardens.
