We recently discovered a momentously inspiring Philadelphia small business that we are absolutely ecstatic about. The Philadelphia Sports Network is run by two former architects, Jason Cooper and Ryan Ward. The duo started a casual, pick-up basketball group and the interest level was so high that they were inspired to start a business that focused on providing fun, recreational activities for adults in Philadelphia. Officially founded in 2007, the business immediately skyrocketed and participants flooded the business out of an interest in fun, friendship and fitness. They began adding additional activities and running PSN quickly became a full-time responsibility for Cooper and Ward.
Today, PSN oversees 200 sports leagues with over 20,000 participants throughout Philadelphia. Cooper and Ward manage everything from venues, to players, to sponsorship. Though running all of these day-to-day operations keeps the owners extremely busy, they clearly love every minute of it and get a great deal of joy out of seeing their customers enjoying their amazing athletic opportunities. They are passionately committed to meeting the needs of Philadelphia sports enthusiasts and serving their community.
The Philadelphia Sports Network currently offers basketball, volleyball, indoor and outdoor soccer, flag football, indoor and outdoor kickball, racquetball, squash, tennis, bowling, softball, floor hockey, ultimate Frisbee, dodge ball, fitness clubs, inner tube water polo, wallyball, Salsa Dance Classes, Pick-Up Leagues and additional events. They operate out of numerous locations all over Philadelphia and always welcome new participants. Be sure to check out PSN on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and then get involved!
P.S. Be sure to check out PSN’s new Pittsburg based project here!
